Capitals' Karl Alzner: Riddled with injuries in 2015-16

Alzner dealt with a broken thumb, strained oblique, and hip flexor injury during the regular season, before sustaining a groin tear in the playoffs, Stephen Whyno of The Associated Press reports.

Analysis:

Despite that long list of ailments, Alzner was able to play all 82 games for the third consecutive season. However, the groin tear sustained in Tuesday's Game 6 against the Penguins was enough to knock him out of the deciding contest after 5:16 of ice time. At this point, it's not clear if Alzner will require surgery to correct his latest malady.
