Sabres' Zach Bogosian: Finishes season on strong note

In his second year with Buffalo, Bogosian scored 16 of his 24 points after the All-Star break, and finishes the season with 64 appearances.

Analysis:

It was a Jekyll and Hyde season for Bogosian, who struggled through the first half of the season, scoring just eight points in 33 games to go with a minus-16 rating. But something clicked after the All-Star break, and Bogosian ramped up his offensive production, scoring six goals in 31 goals with a plus-5 rating. He is one of Buffalo's best two-way defenseman, and has found chemistry with rookie Jake McCabe, another two-way player who plays with a definite edge. With Rasmus Ristolainen and Josh Gorges established as the team's top pair, McCabe and Bogosian will enter the 2016-17 season as the team's de facto second pairing, and a formidable one at that if both players perform consistently. Bogosian has battled injuries over the past few seasons and isn't a sure bet to stay healthy, but certainly 30-40 points next season is a very attainable goal.
