Stars' Kari Lehtonen: Apparently not starting Tuesday

Contrary to an earlier report, Lehtonen has not been confirmed as the starting goaltender for Tuesday's Game 3 against the Blues, The Dallas Morning News reports.

Analysis:

Stars coach Lindy Ruff initially told the media that Lehtonen would get the call, despite allowing three goals on five shots before a premature exit in Sunday's Game 2, but The Dallas Morning News reports that Ruff may have been joking when he said, "Well, we've been going with Lehtonen, so we're going to stay with him." Possible misdirection from the bench boss came to light when Niemi was the first goalie to leave the ice at morning skate Tuesday. Whenever a goalie is the first one off, it almost always means he'll start that night. Official confirmation will arrive during pregame warm-ups.
