Chicago Blackhawks forward Artem Anisimov underwent successful surgery to repair a right wrist injury Tuesday, and is expected to return to full hockey activities in 6-to-8 weeks.
Analysis:
Anisimov was a steady source of offense for the Blackhawks this season, notching 42 points (20 goals, 22 assists) in 77 regular-season games while centering the dangerous duo of Patrick Kane and Artemi Panarin on Chicago's second line. The 27-year-old forward will likely return to a similar, if not identical role in 2016-17, and should be similarly productive barring injury. At this juncture, there's no indication that Anisimov won't be ready for the start of next season's training camp.
