Islanders ink Wotherspoon to entry-level deal

The New York Islanders signed defenseman Parker Wotherspoon to an entry-level contract, the team announced Monday.
A fourth-round selection from last season, Wotherspoon is coming off a highly productive season with the Tri-City Americans. He finished ninth in scoring among Western Hockey League defensemen with 11 goals and 45 assists.
Wotherspoon was the second of five defensemen in the Islanders' draft class, and first to sign a pro contract.
