Halak (groin) won't dress for Saturday's Game 2 against the Lightning, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

Analysis:

Halak has been making progress in his recovery from a groin injury of late, taking shots and participating fully in Friday's morning skate, but still isn't ready to draw back into the Islanders' lineup, even in a backup role. New York likely doesn't feel inclined to rush the 30-year-old netminder back into game action, as Thomas Greiss has been fantastic in his absence, compiling a 5-2-0 record with an impressive 1.94 GAA and .941 save percentage over seven playoff starts. The Islanders should provide an update on Halak's status once he's set to return to the lineup.
