Maryland backup quarterback Caleb Rowe tore his left ACL in practice Tuesday and will miss the rest of the season, according to CSN Baltimore's Daniel Martin.

A redshirt junior, Rowe suffered the injury during a simulated, non-contact play when his legs tangled awkwardly while running a read-option up the middle.

Rowe, who sat out a chunk of the 2012 campaign with a torn ACL, completed 34-of-54 passes for 489 yards, with five touchdowns and four interceptions while serving as C.J. Brown's backup this season.
