The New York Jets' already suspect defensive secondary took a major hit Sunday with the announcement that key depth player Dexter McDougle tore his ACL at practice and is expected to miss the entire 2014 season.
McDougle was a third-round pick of the Jets in May. He was battling for playing time behind presumed starters Dee Milliner (who also suffered an injury Sunday, though it's believed to be minor) and Dimitri Patterson.
McDougle should have enough injury rehab time to be at or near full health for the start of camp next year, but that's of little consolation now.
