Report: Malkin's concussion caused short-term memory loss
UPDATE: Evgeni Malkin suffered short term memory loss as a result of the hit and has been diagnosed with a concussion. According to Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma Malkin is feeling fine, and he's had no other symptoms.

UPDATE: Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma told media today that Malkin has not suffered from headaches or disorientation that was reported to be the case yesterday.
Bylsma confirmed that Malkin hasn't suffered from headaches or disorientation at any point in time since hitting the boards.

Penguins star forward Evgeni Malkin is reportedly suffering from concussion-like symptoms, according to Rob Rossi of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Malkin left Friday night's game against Florida after careening violently into the end boards by Panthers' defenseman Erik Gudbranson.
Citing multiple sources, Rossi reports that Malkin's symptoms include "severe headache and mild disorientation."
Penguins coach Dan Bylsma ruled Malkin out for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, but declined to elaborate on Malkin's condition other than saying that that he is not hospitalized. The team is simply calling it an "upper body" injury.
Malkin, 26, has recorded 21 points in 18 games for the Penguins this season after posting an NHL-best 109 points in 75 games last season. The Russian born All-Star has carried the Pens while captain Sidney Crosby missed time in 2010-11 and 2011-12 with concussion symptoms of his own.
Malkin, the reigning Hart Memorial Trophy winner as league MVP missed 54 games between the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons.
