According to a report in today's New York Post, New York Islanders owner Charles Wang may be in talks with a group over the sale of the franchise.

Back in October, Wang made a deal with Brooklyn's Barclays Center to move the team from Nassau County to Brooklyn in 2015. Currently, the Islanders are drawing 12,766 fans per game, second worst in the league.

According to a source for the Post:

“The team is salable now. Now it is a legitimate process.”

Wang has reportedly put a $300 million price tag on the franchise.

On the season, the Islanders have gone 5-7-1 and rank 13th in the Eastern Conference.
