Leafs place Connolly on waivers

The Toronto Maple Leafs have placed forward Tim Connolly on waivers, according to Darren Dreger.

Connolly signed a two year deal worth $9 million last year, and was due to make $4.75 million this year.

In 70 games for the Leafs in the 2011-12 season, he recorded 13 goals and 23 assists.
