Report: Habs to host Leafs in season opener

With a 48-game NHL season expected to start on January 19, reports have begun to emerge as to which matchups will take centre stage on opening night.
Two all-Canadian matchups have already been reported, with the Canadiens to host the Maple Leafs in Montreal according to Renaud Lavoie of RDS and the Jets set to open at home against the Senators, according to the Winnipeg Free Press.
Another potential game reported by the Minneapolis Star Tribune would see the revamped Wild head to Colorado to take on the Avalanche.
The NHL hasn't released any details about specific games yet. When the league returned from a lockout that wiped out the entire 2004-05 season, the 2005 opener featured all 30 teams in action.
