Report: NHL owners make concession

According to multiple sources, the NHL owners have made a significant concession in negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement. They offered to shift the cost of the "make whole" provision from the players to the owners side.
The "make whole" provision is a protection plan designed to absorb the losses the players will sustain if there is a rollback in their salaries. The owners would like to have an instant rollback of the percentage of hockey related revenues going to player salaries. They would like to see them drop from 57% of HRR to 50%.
The two sides will meet no later than early next week.
