Reports: Leafs' Lupul headed to KHL
Maple Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul has reportedly signed a deal with KHL club Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg, according to multiple reports, despite not meeting all of the criteria to be eligible as a foreign player in the league, namely not having played in enough NHL games over the last three seasons.
Lupul, 29, recorded 67 points in 66 games with Toronto last season, earning a nomination for Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy.
Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg is currently in last place in the KHL.
