Francois Allaire cuts ties with Maple Leafs
Renowned NHL goaltending coach Francois Allaire is cutting ties with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Allaire has been with the Maple Leafs since the 2009-10 season. Allaire joined general manager Brian Burke with the Leafs after working together with the Anaheim Ducks.
Allaire is most known for helping former Montreal Canadiens goaltender Patrick Roy perfect his style. With Allaire as his trainer, Roy won Stanley Cups in 1986 and 1993. While with the Ducks, Allaire helped Jean-Sebastian Giguere to a Conn Smythe Trophy in 2003 and a Stanley Cup in 2007.
