The Jets said the procedure will be performed Friday in Cleveland by Dr. Thomas Graham.

"Winnipeg Jets defenceman, Zach Bogosian, has been diagnosed with a chronic ligament tear in his right wrist,'' Jets head physician Dr. Peter MacDonald said in a statement. "During off-season training, Zach experienced discomfort and was limited in his performance.''

The six-foot-three, 215-pound American had five goals and 25 assists in 65 games with Winnipeg last season.
