Senators sign Turris to five-year extension

The Ottawa Senators have signed 23-year-old centre Kyle Turris to a five-year, $17.5 million contract extension, the team announced.

The extension, which will begin in the 2013-14 season, will pay Turris an average of $3.5 million per season. Originally drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes, Turris was acquired by the Senators last season via trade.

In 49 games with the Senators Turris posted 12 goals and 17 assists. In 186 career games Turris has 31 goals and 44 assists.
