Simmonds has signed a six-year contract extension with the Flyers, sportsnet.ca reports.

Analysis: Terms weren't disclosed, but presumably, Simmonds -- who was acquired by the Flyers in last summer's deal that sent Mike Richards to the Kings -- is being rewarded handsomely for his breakout year this past season, in which he notched 28 goals and 49 points, both career-highs.
