Lidstrom to remain with Red Wings as scout

Detroit Red Wings assistant general manager Jim Nill confirmed that retired Red Wings defenceman Nicklas Lidstrom will remain with the organization as a scout, likely in Europe.
"We haven't really sat down [and determined] to what extent, but he'll be in the organization and do everything he can to help us out," Nill said of Lidstrom.
Lidstrom retired following the 2011-12 season, after 20 seasons in the NHL with the Red Wings. A pioneer for European players, Lidstrom set several NHL records among European-born and trained players.
In 1,564 Lidstrom recorded 1,142 points (264 goals, 878 assists), adding four Stanley Cups and seven Norris Trophies. The 42-year-old defenceman also won an Olympic gold medal with Sweden in 2006.
