Canadiens sign Price to new six-year deal

The Montreal Canadiens have signed goaltender Carey Price to a new six-year contract worth $39 million. The deal will keep Price in Montreal through the 2017-18 season.
Price, 24, went 26-28-11 in 65 games with the Canadiens last season, posting a 2.43 goals against average and a .916 save percentage.
Price was a first round selection of the Canadiens, fifth overall, and was the first goaltender selected in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Through five seasons, he has a 124-104-35 career record with 16 shutouts, a 2.56 GAA and a .916 save percentage.
He has been named to two all-star games.
