Stars sign Ray Whitney to 2-year deal

The Dallas Stars have signed Ray Whitney to a 2-year contract worth $8 million, including $1 milliion in bonuses.

The 20-year veteran enjoyed a renaissance campaign with the Phoenix Coyotes last season as he tallied 24 goals and 77 points en route to being named to the NHL’s 2nd Team All-Star squad.  He became the oldest player since Gordie Howe in 1969-70 to be selected to the 1st or 2nd NHL All-Star team.
