Report: Pens trying to acquire rights to Ryan Suter

The Pittsburgh Penguins are working hard to acquire the rights to Predators defenceman Ryan Suter, according to CSNPhilly.com.

Suter, set to be a free agent on July 1, has spent his entire seven-year career with the Nashville Predators. The 27 year-old posted career highs in assists (39), points (46) and power play points (25) last season.

Current Pittsburgh Penguins general manager Ray Shero was the assistant general manager from 1998-2006 in Nashville, the team that drafted Suter 7th overall in 2003.
