Report: Staal turns down 10-year deal from Pens
Penguins centre Jordan Staal reportedly turns down a 10-year contract to stay in Pittsburgh, according to multiple sources. Earlier this week, general manager Ray Shero told the Pittsburgh Tribune that he no plans to trade the 6-year veteran however the reports of him turning down a lucrative extension could change the landscape. Last season, Staal set a career high with 50 points despite playing in only 62 games.
Staal is entering the final season of a 4-year, $16 million contract.
