Oilers Nugent-Hopkins cleared for contact
Edmonton Oilers first-overall draft pick Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has been cleared for contact and took part in Monday's practice, reported by the Edmonton Journal.
Nugent-Hopkins missed the Oilers' last five games, a period in which they went 1-3-1, with his second shoulder injury of the season. The 18-year-old did manage 35 points (13 goals, 22 assists) in the 40 games he's played this season.
While Nugent-Hopkins has only been able to play in two games since January 2, he is convinced his shoulder injuries will not be a re-occurring thing. Nugent-Hopkins travelled with the team to Calgary for their Monday matchup with the Flames.
