Brother updates Jamie Benn's injury
UPDATE: According to the Dallas Morning News, Benn could miss at least two games with the injury
After a scary injury last night involving Dallas Stars forward Jamie benn, it was his brother Jordie that gave the concerned, peace of mind. Jamie Benn was forced to leave in the 2nd period vs Calgary after being cut by defenceman Mark Giordano's skate blade. Benn suffered a laceration on his leg which at the time appeared very serious.
Jamie's brother took to Twitter last night to end speculation about the injury. "Everyone @jamiebenn14 is fine!! #ToughGuy #dontworrymamabenn" Jordie announced.
Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said there is a chance Jamie returns on Sunday: "It's a pretty decent size cut, so he is going to be day-to-day. he probably won't play in Phoenix (Saturday), but there is a possibility he could play here (vs. Nashville) on Sunday."
Jamie Benn has 49 points in 52 games thus far this season. He is on pace to break his previous career-highs of 22 goals and 56 points.
