Right deal
The Vancouver Canucks have traded the rights of defenceman Christian Ehrhoff to the New York Islanders.
Vancouver will receive a 2012 fourth-round draft pick in exchange for Ehrhoff's rights.
The Islanders will have until Friday to reach an agreement with the 28-year old defenceman or he will become an unrestricted free agent.
Ehrhoff spent the last two seasons with the Canucks. He recorded 14 goals and 36 assists in 2010-11, tying him for sixth in goals amongst defencemen.
