Handzus gives the cup a rest
August 22nd was Chicago Blackhawks center Michal Handzus' day with the cup. Players almost always eat out if it and hoist it over their heads during parades.
The Stanley Cup needs maintenance days too. Sidney Crosby scrubbed out the Cup before he handed it off to keeper of the cup Phil Pritchard.
Michal Handzus pampered the championship trophy in a different way- he laid the cup down in his child's crib for a nap complete with stuffed animal.
You can see his complete day with the cup here, with photos.
