Report: Sixers owner prepared to purchase Devils
Philadelphia 76ers owner Joshua Harris has agreed on a dollar amount for a purchase of the New Jersey Devils, according to Howard Eskin of Fox 29 TV and 94 WIP Radio.
On Aug. 7, Eskin reported that Harris had expressed interest in purchasing the Devils, and that the expected cost would be "chump change" for Harris and his partners. On Aug. 8, news broke that the NHL might have to take on ownership of the Devils in lieu of current owner Jeff Vanderbeek, a report that was later debunked by the league.
The purchase is said to cover all of Vanderbeek's outstanding debt.
No word on a timeline or dollar amount in relation to the sale of the New Jersey Devils.
