Report: Pistons waive Josh Harrellson, Peyton Siva

The Detroit Pistons have cut a pair of deep-bench players from their squad.

Josh Harrellson profiles as a center with shooting range, whereas Peyton Siva is an undersized guard. Both players played sparingly, scoring just 93 and 54 points respectively.

As noted by Vincent Goodwill of the Detroit Free Press, the moves were made to accommodate new free-agent additions in Caron Butler and D.J. Augustin. Both their contracts were fully unguaranteed.

Report: Peyton Siva agrees to terms with Magic

Jul 29, 6:38 PM

Free-agent point guard Peyton Siva has agreed to terms on a contract with the Orlando Magic, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports reports.

The plan is to have Siva play with the team in camp and then head to the D-League, with a part of his contract guaranteed as a de facto stipend on top of his D-League salary.

Siva was waived by the Detroit Pistons earlier this month to make room for Caron Butler and D.J. Augustin.

In 24 games for the Pistons last season, Siva averaged 2.3 points, 1.4 assists, and 0.6 rebounds.
