The San Francisco 49ers didn't let the first round come to an end before again bolstering the trenches.
After spending the eighth overall pick on Oregon defensive lineman DeForest Buckner, the 49ers traded up from the second round to select guard Joshua Garnett out of Stanford at No. 28 overall.
An incredibly powerful interior presence, Garnett should immediately slide into a starting role and help a once-dominant offensive line move back in the right direction.
Garnett's senior season was easily the most productive of his Stanford career, earning both consensus All-American honors and the Outland Trophy for the nation's most outstanding interior lineman.
