Ravens' Joe Flacco believes he's on track to be ready for training camp

The current expectation is that Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco will be ready in time for the start of the team's training camp, but as he's just four months removed from an ACL tear, nothing is for certain.

Flacco has remained optimistic throughout his recovery that he isn't in danger of missing any of Baltimore's offseason program, and while he emphasized it's only his own prediction, the 31-year-old believes he'll be healthy enough to participate come July.

"I can't complain," Flacco said Saturday, according to Garrett Downing of the Ravens' official site. "I'm getting better and better each week."

He added: "To be honest with you, I believe (I'm on track for training camp), but it's not like I've been told a timeline or anything like that. I can't really say one way or another. I can tell each week that by the end of the week I'm feeling sore and I'm hurting, and by the next Monday I'm feeling better than I did last Monday."

Flacco didn't show any lingering physical signs of the ACL injury as he lofted a jump shot at former teammate Torrey Smith's charity basketball game:

When Flacco does return to the field, he'll have a new weapon to play with in speedster Mike Wallace.

The Ravens brought in the free-agent wideout in hopes he'd reinvigorate the deep passing game that all but dried up last season, and Flacco is ready to give Wallace plenty of chances to make big plays downfield.

"I plan on him having a huge impact," Flacco said. "I think he's a talented guy. He can run, he can catch, he can do a lot of things. I'm planning on him coming in here and having a big impact on our football team and helping us win a lot of games."
