The Miami Dolphins selected offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil out of Ole Miss with the 13th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft on Thursday.

Once projected as a potential first overall pick, Tunsil slid down boards after video of him smoking from a bong was posted to his Twitter account just moments before the draft began. The video reportedly prompted at least one team to completely remove Tunsil from its draft board.

The video, which Tunsil said is several years old, will ensure he's under intense scrutiny early in his career and perhaps for seasons to come.

"I don't know who it was (that posted the video)," Tunsil said. "Somebody hacked my account.

"But I'm going to work my butt off ... and show everybody what kind of person I am."

Later, photos appearing to show text conversations in which Tunsil asked his college coach for money were posted to his Instagram account.

Tunsil was suspended for seven games while at Ole Miss for receiving impermissible benefits.

Potential character issues aside, Tunsil is a rare athlete for an offensive tackle, displaying "twitched-up" explosiveness off the snap. He projects as a Day 1 starter for the Dolphins.

Laremy Tunsil Bio

Position: OT
School: Mississippi
College Experience: Junior
Height: 6-5
Weight: 310 lbs.

Strengths

  • Athleticism is off the charts for a man his size, showing off ideal footwork and balance in pass protection.
  • Possesses lateral quickness and strength, exhibited both on tape and at his pro day. Positioning and fundamentals are above average coming out of college.
  • Nimble, fluid, flexible are all common words used to describe Tunsil's ability and he should have no problem handling both speed and power rushers at the NFL level.

Weaknesses

  • Medical history is spotty, with a gruesome broken leg/dislocated ankle injury suffered in 2014. Also suffered torn biceps during the 2014 season. He never played a full slate of games during three seasons at Ole Miss.
  • Off-field concerns include a domestic violence charge (later dismissed) from 2015, a seven-game impermissible benefits suspension from the NCAA, and his alleged attendance at a party in which teammate Robert Nkemdiche fell from a balcony.
  • Not a mauler or a pure power blocker in the run game. Lower-body strength a slight knock.
