Jaguars' Beachum: 'I'll be starting Week 1'

Jacksonville Jaguars left tackle Kelvin Beachum assured his new fans that he'll be ready to go for the beginning of the 2016 season.

Beachum spent the first four seasons of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but signed with a one-year, $4.5-million deal with the Jaguars on March 15. However, Beachum's contract also contains a four-year team option worth up to an additional $40 million.

One of the league's best left tackles, Beachum's season came to a crashing halt when he tore his ACL in October against the Arizona Cardinals.

Nonetheless, Beachum is confident he'll be back to top form come fall.

"I'll be starting Week 1," Beachum told USA TODAY's Tom Pelissero.

Beachum is widely expected to supplant Luke Joeckel at left tackle, moving the former second overall pick to the right side.

Arguably the most proactive team during this spring's free agency, Beachum will be an instrumental piece in the Jaguars' aggressive rebuilding effort.
