The Dallas Cowboys were a mess last season missing their star quarterback-receiver combo, Tony Romo and Dez Bryant for most of season.

Bryant battled through a foot injury and appeared in only nine games last season, and had career lows in yards per game and touchdowns. He also only had one game in which he reached 100 yards receiving.

Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett expects Bryant to return to form in 2016.

"Dez is doing really well" Garrett told Jon Machota of The Dallas Morning News on Wednesday. "He's rehabbing. He's around our building. He's had a lot of productive days. He's on schedule."

The 27-year-old wideout is recovering from his second surgery on his right foot in four months, while Romo underwent clavicle surgery just over two weeks ago.

"I think our biggest improvement - and I'm not trying to be trite - will be a healthy Romo and a healthy Bryant and having (Orlando) Scandrick," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told ESPN. "That'll be our biggest improvement."

Scandrick, a cornerback, missed the 2015 season with an ACL/MCL injury.
