Jets' Bowles: Marshall lobbying for Fitzpatrick 'really doesn't matter'

Brandon Marshall displayed a great deal of chemistry with Ryan Fitzpatrick in their first season together, and has been lobbying hard for the New York Jets to re-sign the quarterback.

Head coach Todd Bowles heard Marshall's pleas, but said they're of little concern to him.

"My son wants certain things too that his dad says no to," Bowles said with a laugh at the AFC coaches breakfast Tuesday, according to Kimberley A. Martin of Newsday. "It really doesn't matter."

Jets owner Woody Johnson told reporters Monday that re-signing Fitzpatrick is a priority and he's optimistic the two sides will be able to reach a deal.
