New York Jets owner Woody Johnson is still holding out hope of getting a deal done with free-agent quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Speaking at the NFL owners meetings Monday, Johnson said re-signing Fitzpatrick is a priority for the Jets, and that he's optimistic the two sides will be able to come to an agreement.

Asked what his message to Fitzpatrick would be, Johnson said, "Come back to the Jets."

Johnson said there's no deadline in place for a deal, just as long as it's done before training camp

Fitzpatrick reportedly attracted interest from the Broncos, but talks fizzled after Denver was unable to meet his contract demands.
