Jared Goff: 'It would be awesome' to play for 49ers

NFL draft prospect Jared Goff is a native of Novato, Calif., and played his college ball at the University of California-Berkeley so it only makes sense that the quarterback wouldn't mind sticking around on the west coast.

"I think it would be great," Goff told Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area about the possibility of playing for the San Francisco 49ers. "It would be a really cool thing. Growing up a fan of them, it would be awesome."

There is a high likelihood that Goff could be selected by his childhood team with the seventh overall pick. Goff, along with Carson Wentz, is considered one of the top two quarterbacks in the draft and only one team ahead of the 49ers has an immediate need at the position.

Goff had an impressive pro day completing 61 of 69 pass attempts in front of a 49ers contigent that included head coach Chip Kelly, quarterbacks coach Ryan Day, receivers coach Bob Bicknell, and running backs coach Tom Rathman.

Goff added that he is not set on going to the 49ers and he would have zero problems going to another team.

"I'd be more than happy to play anywhere and go to a team and a coach that I want to win games with and be successful with."
