Another Belichick is on the rise.

The New England Patriots announced several moves Friday in finalizing their coaching staff for the 2016 season, including a promotion for head coach Bill Belichick's son, Steve.

After serving as a coaching assistant the past three years, Steve will now step into a role as the safeties coach.

Steve played lacrosse for four years at Rutgers before walking on to the football team - then coached by Greg Schiano - as a long snapper to prepare for a coaching career.

The position became available when Brian Flores moved to the Patriots' linebackers coach earlier this offseason.

Also confirmed Friday was the return of longtime offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia.
