Miller and the Dolphins have been unable to agree on a price point for a multi-year contact, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Analysis:

Miller is reportedly seeking a salary above $5 million per season, but since the Dolphins appear unwilling to meet that desire, he could hit the open market when free agency opens March 9. Just 24 years old, Miller has averaged 4.6 yards per carry through his first four seasons, and he's coming off his best year, having posted 1,269 all-purpose yards and 10 touchdowns. Should Miller and the Dolphins fail to reach agreement on a new contract, his absence would leave rising second-year player Jay Ajayi as the top running back on Miami's roster.
