Reggie Nelson's 2015 season ended with him suffering a sprained ankle in the AFC wild-card game. He hopes it didn't also mark the end of his tenure with the Cincinnati Bengals.

"Most definitely not," the 32-year-old safety said recently, via the team's official website. "They know that. Everybody knows that. I would love to be a Bengal.

"I did my part. I played football. It's time to handle business and we'll go from there."

Nelson experienced a career year in 2015, racking up a league-high eight interceptions en route to being named to his first Pro Bowl.

Bengals management will be heading to Indianapolis on Tuesday for the NFL Scouting Combine, which is typically when they begin negotiating with their own free agents. Nelson figures to be near the top of the list, as do fellow starting safety George Iloka, cornerback Adam Jones, wide receivers Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu, and linebacker Vincent Rey.
