Rivers: Chargers won't repeat 2015 struggles

Despite yet another productive season from Philip Rivers, the San Diego Chargers finished the 2015 campaign with their worst record since 2003, the year before the quarterback was drafted.

The veteran pivot, for what it's worth, doesn't see the team's struggles becoming a trend going forward.

Rivers spoke with Marty Caswell of 1090 Sports Radio on Tuesday, expressing confidence that the Chargers will be able to bounce back immediately.

San Diego was thought by many to have a legitimate chance at challenging for a playoff spot heading into the 2015 season. Injury issues quickly arose, however, effectively making the year an uphill battle from the outset.

The Chargers will look to address some problem areas on the roster this offseason, but the team may be facing a relatively limited window for success.

Rivers, entering his 13th season, will turn 35 in December.
