The Denver Broncos were able to neutralize Cam Newton in Super Bowl 50 due largely to the dominance of Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware up front.

The star pass-rushers constantly won their one-on-one matchups against Carolina Panthers tackles Michael Oher and Mike Remmers, getting into the backfield with ease and forcing several game-changing turnovers.

Touching on the pass-protection issues after the game, Panthers tight end Ed Dickson told reporters that the team "left the tackles out to dry" by not giving them help on the edge, according to Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer.

Having running backs and tight ends provide chip blocks is the most common way in which teams will adjust for struggling tackles.

Asked specifically whether Remmers received enough help in taking on Miller, however, head coach Ron Rivera indicated that the adjustments can't always be put into effect.

"You can't give it to him all the time," Rivera said. "Sometimes you've got to make plays."

The Broncos totaled an impressive 13 quarterback hits and seven sacks en route to the 24-10 win.
