Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis will start in the Super Bowl despite suffering a broken forearm in the NFC Championship Game, head coach Ron Rivera told NFL Network's Steve Wyche.

Davis is expected to play a full complement of snaps, NFL Network's Albert Breer reports.

Davis underwent surgery to have a metal plate and screws inserted in his broken forearm. He is expected to wear a special brace on Sunday.

Davis has reported feeling no pain since returning to practice, but it's fair to question whether he'll be able to make tackles with a potentially weakened arm.

What isn't fair to question is Davis' resolve. The veteran has overcome three torn ACLs in his career and made it very clear he won't allow an injury - even one as significant as a broken bone - to keep him off the field in his first Super Bowl.
