Saints' Browner hints at release with 'farewell New Orleans' tweet

Brandon Browner appears to be leaving the Big Easy after just one season.

The veteran cornerback, who signed a three-year, $15-million deal with the Saints last March, bid farewell to New Orleans on Friday with a pair of cryptic tweets suggesting he's been released by the team.

Browner started all 16 games for the Saints in 2015, recording 76 tackles, one interception, and 10 passes defensed. However, he also set an NFL record for penalties in a season and was part of the league's worst pass defense.

The 31-year-old has a fully-guaranteed base salary of $2.75 million for 2016, along with a $6.3-million cap hit - the sixth-highest on the team.
