New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman denied that he needed X-rays following Saturday's victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Edelman returned to action after missing the team's last seven regular-season games due to a broken foot. The receiver led the team with 10 receptions for 100 yards Saturday.

After the game, he was seen walking to the X-ray room barefoot, according to multiple reports.

However, Edelman said postgame that he didn't require X-rays, and was positive about his outlook heading into the AFC Championship Game.

"Everyone's sore. I finished the game and feel good enough to get ready to prepare for next week," Edelman said to ESPN's Mike Reiss.

It's a curious development, and the team denied further comment. Edelman's situation will likely need to be monitored all week.
