Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart was diagnosed with a foot sprain after undergoing an MRI on Monday, according to Jonathan Jones of The Charlotte Observer.

Stewart was sporting a protective walking boot on Monday. The Panthers' running back rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries before leaving Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons.

It's likely that a decision on Stewart's status for the team's upcoming game against the New York Giants will be made later in the week.
