Falcons' Hester says he's cleared to return from toe injury

Reinforcements may be on the way for a struggling Atlanta Falcons offense.

Veteran wide receiver Devin Hester told ESPN's Vaughn McClure on Monday that he's been cleared to return from the toe injury that's kept him on the sidelines for the entire 2015 campaign.

Hester was placed on injured reserve/designated to return Oct. 6 after Atlanta's first four regular-season games.

Though he's unlikely to step into any sort of prominent role, Hester's return gives the Falcons another potential playmaker at a time when their playoff hopes are slowly slipping away.

Hester should also contribute as a return man on special teams, likely splitting duties with Eric Weems.
