Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said he would not fire defensive coordinator Bill Davis following an ugly loss at the hands of the Detroit Lions.

The Eagles have sputtered defensively, giving up an absurd 10 touchdown passes over the last two games, and getting outscored 90-31 during that time.

"We didn't see this happening," Kelly said during his postgame conference following the loss. "Coming in, we didn't think it would get away from us."

But the embattled head coach refused to give up on the season, despite a three-game losing streak in which his team has turned in energetically deficient performances.

"There's still an opportunity to make the playoffs," Kelly offered, before adding, "We have to come together as a group and get our heads together."

Offensive tackle Lane Johnson, who moved to left tackle after Jason Peters left the game, summed up the loss by succinctly stating: "We got our ass kicked."

"You're gonna see who the quitters are now," Johnson added.
