Emmanuel Sanders (toe/finger) dealing with a high ankle sprain.

Sanders (toe/finger) stated Monday that he's been dealing with a high ankle sprain, The Denver Post reports.

Analysis:

Sanders initially injured his left ankle in a Week 9 loss at Indianapolis, but after sitting out the subsequent week of prep, he convinced the training staff that he was good to go in Week 10 against Kansas City. After going without a catch on four targets, he followed a similar practice routine in advance of Sunday's game in Chicago. However, he was unable to achieve active status, and the true nature of the ailment was revealed by the wide receiver Monday. Suiting up for one of the last two contests may have hindered his recovery effort, but how he proceeds through practice this week will determine if the speedy wideout is available to quarterback Brock Osweiler.
