Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is expected to miss at least another two weeks due to a foot injury.

Manning visited foot and ankle specialist Robert Anderson in Charlotte on Monday, to receive further evaluation on his injury. The five-time MVP is sporting a cast on his injured foot and will undergo further rehabilitation once it is taken off.

Brock Osweiler was named the starting quarterback for the Broncos' highly anticipated contest against the New England Patriots.

"Peyton and I had a good visit today, and we've got a plan in place for his recovery," Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak said, Andrew Mason of the team's official website reports. "His foot will be in a cast for at least a week, but he'll be able to be part of meetings and do some workouts with the rest of the team.

"We expect him to be unavailable for at least a couple of games. We'll proceed from there and will continue to support him as he does everything he can to get healthy."

Manning is undergoing one of the worst seasons of his career, throwing nine touchdowns against a league-high 17 interceptions.

With Manning sidelined for the foreseeable future, the Broncos are expected to host Christian Ponder for a workout.
